It’s January 5th - Twelfth Night - and traditionally the day when you should pack away all your Christmas decorations!
Christmas may be over for another year, but don’t get your tinsel in a tangle or break your baubles. Read our top 5 tips to safely storing all your decorations safely… so they are ready for next year’s festivities.
TOP TIP 1 - Re-use plastic bottles for storage
To prevent your beaded garlands from knotting up with other decorations whilst in storage or your tinsel tangling, pop them straight into an old plastic bottle. It’s a great way to recycle a fizzy drink or water bottle plus it will prevent your garlands from twisting up with any other decorations so that they are in great shape for the next Christmas.
TOP TIP 2 - Wrap your lights around cardboard
There is nothing more frustrating than untangling the Christmas lights and then finding that a bulb has broken and they are not working. To avoid this usual festive problem, unravel the lights off your Christmas tree and immediately wrap them around a piece of cardboard.
This will help to stop them from becoming a tangled mess and prevent unwanted damage to the bulbs and leave your Christmas lights to be easy to unwind and place on the tree next year.
TOP TIP 3 - Re-use boxes from the house
Egg boxes and other similar sized cardboard boxes that you may have received your Christmas deliveries in, make great storage containers for baubles, especially the more delicate glass ones. Simply place one in each egg holder and pop the lid on.

TOP TIP 4 - Pack your decorations by size
If you are using plastic containers to keep your Christmas decorations stored together, make sure that you pack them correctly. Start with the heavier more awkward sized items, such as your Christmas Wreath, at the bottom and then your bauble containers. Do not over pack the containers and make sure that the lid is strong and suitable to carry weight if you are planning on stacking your containers.

TOP TIP 5 - Use a wardrobe carton to store your tree
